Tell us few words about you
I’m just a simple girl who loves makeup I work for the corporate industry but I have always had a deep unknowing passion for makeup which made me venture into the world of Artistry.
How long have you been to Beauty Industry, and how did you get started?
I started my beauty career in March 2015. My interest grew into an obsession, which is when I kick-started my passion into a career. This passion is what led me to discover “Artistry by Olivia”.
What do you love the most about doing makeup?
It’s when I bring a smile on my bride’s face. I love it when they feel extra special on their BIG day. That motivates me every single time.
Did you take any training?
No! I’m proud to say that I’m a self-taught makeup artist.
Where do you work? And the locations you can cover for your projects?
I’m freelancing and cover any locations pan India as of now.
Do you have an assistant to support (or work as a Team) in Bridal Makeups?
I hire a hairstylist who is specialized in bridal hairdo and another person to drape the saree/lehenga. They are not my assistants; I consider them to be my counterparts and we work as a team.
What is the most challenging part of your career?
Availability of makeup brands. As most of the popular brands are not available in India, it’s quite challenging to import them from abroad as and when required. And I work 7 days a week. At times I find it quite tiring to juggle careers but I’m grateful to have wonderful bosses at work.
What you love to do in your free time?
I love to cook when I get time and I also love travelling.
Something you’re still learning?
With respect to makeup there is always something new to learn every now and then. I keep learning new techniques and implement them.
Do you offer beauty tips or DIY makeup guides online?
Yes I do occasionally write blogs and do video tutorials on YouTube. U can check out my fb page: Artistry by Olivia
Share some essential makeup or skincare items every woman should have with her?
Cleanser, toner, moisturizer and sunscreen are a MUST. Nobody should ever skip even one of these. It’s essential to wear a sunscreen even on a cloudy day.
What are the advices you give for those interested in Beauty Industry?
Work with passion. Love what you do. Be persistent and rest will fall in place.
